What is a Hay Baler?

A hay baler is a PTO-driven implement that collects cut hay or straw from the field and compresses it into compact bales for storage, transport, and feeding. Balers transform loose forage into manageable bales, reducing storage space, preserving feed quality, and enabling efficient handling.

Types of Hay Balers

• Round Balers: Produce cylindrical bales (1.2-1.8 m diameter, 300-800 kg). Popular for hay and straw. Easier operation, fewer moving parts.
• Square Balers: Produce rectangular bales (0.4-1.2 m long, 20-40 kg). Preferred for small bales for manual handling. Higher capacity models produce large square bales (500-1,000 kg).
• High-Density Balers: Produce compact bales for export and long-term storage. Higher investment, best for commercial operations.
